Sashiko is a Japanese style of hand embroidery that uses simple stitches to create beautiful intricate designs. In this 4 hour live Zoom class you will learn two different kinds of Sashiko embroidery - Hitomezashi (One-Stitch) and Kuguri-sashi (Stitch & Weave). We will review the traditional Sashiko no-knot start method and Sashiko stitching basics before moving into Hitomezashi designs in the first two hours of the class. You will have a break before moving onto Kuguri-sashi in the last two hours of the class. A complete kit to make 4 coasters (pre-printed sampler, thread and needles) is included with your workshop fee and will be mailed to you prior to the start of the workshop.
Level : Previous Sashiko experience is helpful, but not necessary.
