COSMO Hidamari Sashiko Thread - Lemon (#12)

This yellow made my sashiko flowers pop. It is easy to thread and does not fray. Plus, I love that I can cut as much as I need which minimizes waste. A great purchase.

This thread is so beautiful! I do a lot of hand quilting and hand piecing, and my usual choice in pearl size 8. I still like that best because it's mercerized, BUT, for a thread this beautiful, I feel fully satisfied. (It's much better for my work than embroidery floss, which creates many frustrations..) This particular color-way is so vibrant! 💛💛💛 I'm using the cookies and cream variation of it to quilt a white scrap quilt right now, which I'm doing with ombre threads (dark gray at the bottom up to bright white at the top), and it's playing beautifully mixed with my pearl 8's. The quilt was pieced partly with the COSMO Hidamari Sashiko Thread confetti in the red, white, and blue colors, and it worked well for piecing as well as quilting with this color. ***I may be a somewhat unusual quilter in that I often like to quilt with my wingspan, about 5.5' of thread at a time. I can get away with that using a French brand of pearl, but not with other brands. THIS THREAD stayed strong and worked well for the full 5 feet!!!! 💘💘💘 I'm very curious and excited to see what'll happen with this bright lemony variation. 💛🍋🍌 I also got the Daruma lemon squash 303, which is a blend of yellow and white, and I think they'll work really beautifully together.
