Out of the Gate....

I just started exploring the world of sashiko, so I really can't do a lot of comparing. However, I've been working on some practice napkins and I love this thread! It's soft and lays beautifully on the mid-wt (5.3oz/yd) linen I'm using. I also am using Olympus in variegated and dk blue which are noticeably thicker. Both thread into the needle fairly easily. The Olympus was a little more difficult owing to the increased thickness, but both work up beautifully. The Cosmo is a bit more fiddly ( I assume because it's a bit thinner), and wears a bit more easily--I wouldn't use a length greater than 24"---the tail of it will get ragged. Cosmo did not tangle at all, while Olympus did, a couple of times. All in all, I prefer the hand and texture of Cosmo, but liked the thickness of Olympus. ❤️
