Cottage Garden Threads Forage Collection - Allium (LM17)

Nestled in the quiet hills of Victoria, Australia, Mother-Daughter duo Pam and Katie, along with their passionate team of local women, design, create and produce Cottage Garden Threads one-by-one. Each unique, hand-dyed skein  leaves having been handled with care so that you too, can love the color and feel the difference

Cottage Garden Threads (CGT) uses only the finest quality long staple mercerized base thread, which results in a high sheen thread with a low knotting rate. The unique CGT packaging allows you to keep thread color, number and weight information handy as well as eliminate tangles. By simply pulling on the left hand side of the skein, the thread will untwist and be ready to use length by length, or strand by strand.

CGT Threads are designed with the same color at either end of the pre-cut lengths, which results in continuity of the subtle color blend only achievable with hand dying. CGT threads are short-pitch variegated threads, which allow you to enjoy the subtle blending of colors even when stitching small details.

The Forage Collection was designed by Lisa Mattock to reflect her fascination with the colors and textures of nature. All of the colors in this collection are inspired by flowers and foliage that can be "foraged".

Soul Mates with this Color!

I'm a purple junkie, so I would LOVE this thread on the basis of the color alone. It's rich and regal without being overdone.

It stitches really well. It is smooth and almost snag-free (my fault, I had a hangnail - lotion time!) The floss didn't twist or knot up as I was stitching. It worked well for a variety of stitch types- smooth satin stitches as well as French and bullion knots.

The color? Did I mention it was gorgeous? Yes, moving on. Loved it!

The packaging was a bit different from the typical skein of embroidery floss. I'd guess it was better for transporting and storage without coming unraveled or snagged. I had a short learning curve to get the individual strands pulled out. But once I figured this out (as in I read the provided directions), it was not difficult.

Will definitely buy again for special projects!

I wish the lighting for my photo was better. I assure you, the threads are soooooooo much prettier in real life than this photo shows.
