Sashiko is a Japanese style of hand embroidery. Beautifully intricate patterns are created with a simple running stitch using thick cotton Sashiko thread. Sashiko is great for beginning and advanced stitchers alike. Easy to learn and relaxing to do!

This is an easy pattern and so much fun. Green variegated thread on the beige background is stunning.
I used Sashiko thread/desert (#91) because I wanted to make a small table cover with a desert look. The process of stitching has been pure joy; stitching circles is so soothing. And the appearance of the combination of the fabric and thread worked out better than I had imagined.
