From the Daruma company in Japan comes this luxurious line of Sashiko threads. The Thin Sashiko line of thread is their thinnest Sashiko thread (approximately the same as size 8 perle cotton) with a beautifully natural matte finish. This is a single strand thread that is not meant to be divided. The thread is pre-wound on heavyweight cardboard bobbins for easy use. Just cut your desired length and start stitching.

Eye Candy...

This collection is lovely! The storage box is sturdy and convenient. Nice to have the pincushion and needles come along with this set. Will be trying this thread in a hand embroidery project. Looking forward to using this yummy thread!

Treat yourself!

It always feels like Christmas morning, when you receive your order from Snuggly Monkey. Opening the Daruma Sashiko Thread Collector’s Box feels like Ralphie receiving his Red Ryder BB gun! It has all the solid colors in a beautiful box, with a cloth pin cushion and a set of sashiko needles. Many of my Hitomezashi Sashiko projects require three or four cards of sashiko thread. Having the collection, I can experiment with different thread colors to determine which color or set of colors I wish to use with my fabric. It allows me the freedom to use any color fabric without the guess work of “ how is this thread color going to work with this fabric.”
