Au Ver a Soie's Soie Perlée is a 3-ply twisted filament silk that is smooth, soft and lustrous. This single stranded thread is non-divisible with a thickness between Size 8 and Size 12 perle cotton. Unlike Perle Cotton thread, Perle Silk (Soie Perlée) expands to fill a stitched area when light tension is used. Soie Perlée has a natural sheen that can hold up to canvas work without losing its luster. Each charming wooden spool has 17.5 yards (16m) of thread and can be used for a wide variety of stitch work, including hand embroidery, cross stitch, needlepoint, tassel making and more.

Silk Perle green thread set

I love these silk threads!!!! The colors are beautiful and the thread is so easy to work with. I’ve been using them on my sashiko pieces and they look so rich and stunning. I have purchased 3 different sets and will definitely get more

I am obsessed with these silk perle threads. The sheen is spectacular and they move like they are alive, but yet aren't so slippery that they are hard to use. I never imagined a thread so silky and lively would be such a dream to use. The colors are gorgeous and saturated, too. This mix of greens is great; some warm times, some cool tones, and they still all work together. And do I ever need to mention how charming the wooden spools are?!?
