Sashiko is a beautiful and elegant style of Japanese hand embroidery. Sashiko thread is a single ply strand made of 100% cotton. This sturdy cotton thread is ideal for stitching sashiko samplers, boro, decorative hand quilting, hand embroidery and more.
:: Skein Length: 44 yards (40 m)
:: Color: Pumpkin (#21)
:: Made in Japan by Daruma
** Approximately the same thickness as size 8 perle cotton. Daruma Sashiko thread is thinner than Olympus brand Sashiko thread.
I hadn't heard of Yokota sashiko thread before seeing it here. I began sashiko stitching with Olympus thread. This thinner thread makes such a difference! Compared to Olympus- this thread stitched up like a dream! This Yokota doesn't tangle (so I don't need to use my thread conditioner), puff up (Olympus looks like it may unravel, it's so puffy) and it's easy for me to thread! It goes through my fabric easier too. I want to have all the colors! My wishlist is growing with them all!
