Nishikiito thread by Cosmo Lecien is a truly exceptional metallic hand embroidery thread. Made in Japan using the same techniques that are used for the traditional golden threads used to make kimono, Nishikiito thread has a beautiful bright, glossy sheen and abrasion-resistant. The feel of the thread is much softer and smoother than standard metallic threads, so it snags less and is easier to work with.
The Opali Collection of Nishikiito threads have a smooth texture and a multi-color reflection similar to that found in opals. This semi-transparent thread allows light to faintly pass through it to create a unique nuanced effect. This thread was formally called Shabon-Dama.
