Hitomezashi is a style of Sashiko that uses dense stitching to create intricate patterns. The Hitomezashi Coasters Pattern from QH Textiles gives you the opportunity to stitch up 6 different small scale designs that can be turned into coasters, clothing patches, wall hangings, table runners and more. The pre-printed designs make it easy to start stitching right away.PRODUCT DETAILS:
When I saw Claudia’s list of new Sashiko items, I just had to get this set of four series of coasters. There are 6 coasters for stitching and matching backing for each one. December 8 is the date every year for the Blessing of the Needles at shrines in Japan. Although it’s not as popular a tradition as it was in year’s past, it is still a great tradition. Stitchers petition for better sewing skills for the coming year. I will probably end up stitching these onto other Sashiko /Boro pieces to make some kind of patchwork art.
