Wool Felt
Hitomezashi is one of the styles of Sashiko, a Japanese form of hand embroidery. Hitomezashi means "one stitch" and this family of designs is stitched on a grid to form intricate and dense patterns. Hitomezashi samplers provide hours of meditative stitching practice that result in a beautiful hana-fukin (kitchen cloth) that can be used for years or incorporated into other projects such as bags, quilts, table runners and more.
Olympus brand Sashiko Samplers are printed on 100% cotton Sashiko fabric (Sashiko Momen) using wash-away ink. Simply follow the stitch lines by stitching all the horizontal lines first, then the verticals and finally the diagonals and watch your complete pattern emerge as you stitch. Once you have finished stitching, simply rinse the sampler in water to wash away any stray markings.

I’m looking forward to getting this stitches on an upcoming vacation. I’ve seen it done in shades of pink and it’s really pretty.
This cherry blossom pattern has so many possibilities! That’s the only challenging part for me. I’ve just started it and am anxious to see how it turns out. Price is very reasonable and I received it quickly. I’m hooked on sashiko and will be buying from Snuggly Monkey again!
This one has been challenging for me to sew ... staying in a regimented sewing technique so that the back looks orderly keeps me on my toes.
The Cherry Blossom Sampler is a wonderful pattern, I love doing sashiko samplers. This one I'm having fun with diagonal colors. New style for me.
Have gotten into Sashiko recently and I can’t wait to stitch this pattern. Also purchased the thread snuggly monkey recommended!
